复叶
单叶:叶柄上只着生一个叶片的叶子。
复叶:一个叶柄上着生两个以上叶片的叶子。复叶又可分为:
三出复叶:在总叶柄顶端只着生三片小叶。
掌状复叶:小叶着生在总叶柄顶端,小叶柄呈掌状辐射排列。
羽状复叶:小叶在叶轴的两侧排列成羽毛状。其中小叶直接着生在总叶柄上的称一回羽状复叶或简称羽状复叶(如月季),总叶柄分枝一次或二次,在分枝上着生小叶的,分别称为二回羽状复叶或三回羽状复叶。
奇数羽状复叶:羽状复叶中叶轴顶端只生长一片小叶的叶子。
偶数羽状复叶:羽状复叶中叶轴顶端着生两片小叶的叶子。

● 叶序
叶序即叶子在茎上的排列方式,主要包括互生、对生、轮生、簇生、基生。在确定了植物的叶形、单复叶之后,进一步辨别其叶序情况,基本上就能确定一种植物了。
互生:每个节上只生一片叶子,在茎上交互而生。
对生:每个节上着生两片叶子,在茎上相对排列。
轮生:每个节上生有三片或更多的叶子,呈车轮状着生。
簇生:节间极度缩短,使叶子成簇生长在短枝上。
基生:无明显的地上茎,叶子从植株贴地的基部生出。

叶缘即叶子边缘的形状。在认识了植物的叶形、单复叶、叶序之后,进一步观察植物的叶缘可以更准确地认识植物。
全缘:边缘平滑或近于平滑的叶子。
圆锯齿:边缘有向外突出的圆弧形的缺刻,两弧线相连处形成一内凹尖角。
锯齿:边缘有内、外角均尖锐的缺刻,缺刻的两边平直,而且齿尖向前。
波状齿:边缘稍显凸凹而呈波纹状的叶子。
羽状浅裂:叶片具羽状脉,裂片在中脉两侧像羽毛状分裂,裂片的深度不超过1/2。
羽状深裂:叶片具羽状脉,裂片深度超过1/2,但叶片并不因缺刻而间断。
羽状全裂:叶片具羽状脉,裂片深达中央,造成叶片间断,裂片之间彼此分开。
掌状浅裂:叶片具掌状脉,裂片沿脉间掌状排列,裂片的深度不超过1/2。
掌状深裂:叶片具掌状脉,裂片深度超过1/2,但叶片并不因缺刻而间断。
